More About Measles
- More serious in adults than in children.
- One infection usually confers immunity for life.
- A baby is protected by its mother's antibodies (through breast milk) until the age of 6 months.
- Complications may include: ear infection, bronchitis, (rarely) encephalitis.
- The homeopathic remedy MORBILLINUM 30c will help to protect a vulnerable adult or child against measles in an epidemic. If your child is in contact with the disease, and you wish to prevent it, give one dose a week for three weeks.
- Draw curtains if the light hurts the eyes. Give plenty of water and juice to drink, and vitamin C. Keep on a light diet until the fever subsides.
- Bathe sore eyes with EUPHRASIA Ø (3 drops in water).
- The healthier the child before the attack, the less likely the disease will be prolonged or complicated.
- A disturbing syndrome of atypical measles has occurred in children previously immunised. This takes the form of an illness with a rash, muscle weakness, oedema, abdominal pain, vomiting.
THE PROCESS OF RECOVERY FROM MEASLES PRIMES THE CHILD'S IMMUNE SYSTEM TO RESPOND PROMPTLY AND EFFICIENTLY TO OTHER MICRO-ORGANISMS IN THE FUTURE. THIS IS A CRUCIAL STEP IN THE MATURING HEALTHY IMMUNE SYSTEM.
